What's Pure Happiness???

It's Pure Happiness is a blog of things I like, love or find inspiring.
It might be pictures, quotes, songs, books, products or foods.
Basically, it's things that make up a life of Pure Happiness.

Maybelline The Falsies mascara

I needed a new mascara and decided to try this one as it was on a great sale and I tend to like Maybelline products.
This mascara is very ... liquidy. Whilst other mascaras seem fairly dry whilst on the brush this one goes on very wet.
It does seem sticky originally, but with a lash comb, this is soon sorted out.
I like the look of the mascara once it is on and dry - it defines well, and adds some length and volume. It doesnt give the look of false lashes, although I admit, I only wear one or two coats.
The brush itself is curved and takes a bit of getting used to. It is sort of flattened, in that it is not circular like most, as well as having a spoon like curve.
I got the waterproof version and I will say it definitely is. After a somewhat hysterical crying fit I expected to look a mess with mascara smudged everywhere, but no, all still in place, exactly as i left it, including lower lashes. On me, it also doesnt flake.
I would buy this mascara again, however it is not my favourite.

Two Wolves

An elderly Cherokee native American was teaching his grandchildren about life.
He said to them, "A fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority complex, lies, pride and superiority. The other wolf stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. This same fight is going on inside you and every other person too"
The kids thought about it for a minute and then one of the kids asked, "which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied," The one I feed."

I love this teaching. It is a fantastic principle. And so very true. When we look at others, it is often easy to see those for whom anger, arrogance or resentment has consumed their very being.

Body Shop Hand Cream

With almond oil, shea butter and soya oil.

This is a nice rich hand cream which soaks in quickly to the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy feel on the hands. It’s got that great clean, fresh, sweet scent which lingers on the hands all day, even after various washes (which is great if you like the smell, but a bit of a downer if you don’t).
It leaves your hands feeling softer and smoother instantly and after a few uses really begins to work its magic.

Has anyone tried any of the other Body Shop hand creams? I don’t know whether I want to try a new one, or stick with this know and love product.

Thanks, thanks and more thanks

Thanks to

- My lack of clients – for reminding me how much I love my job and miss having clients
- The burst water pipe which has meant we haven’t been able to use the taps all day – thanks, I didn’t have to wash up my lunch things.
- The disappointing grocery store I visited – for reminding me how lucky I am to usually have Coles and Woolies in the one place to choose from.

Best Things In Life

The 'best things in life aren't things' post is about appreciating non 'things' in life.

1) The feeling of accomplishment when you finally finish something you have been meaning to do forever
2) The smile that spreads over your face when you smile at something on the car radio, only to realise the person in the car next to you is looking at you like you are a mad woman.
3) The feeling of satisfaction when you are the first in a line of cars lapping the car park, and you nab that last free spot.
and
4) The sweetness of seeing an elderly couple, shuffling along hand in hand, gazing into each others eyes.

Mars Caramel

Now I do have a sweet tooth and I do love normal Mars bars, so of course, I HAD to try the new Mars Caramel.
The Mars caramel is the same size as a regular Mars, but instead of having the nougat with a thin layer of caramel on top, they have taken out the nougat and the entire bar is just thick, gooey caramel (with the usual chocolate coating). I love these - although I must admit, that much caramel does border on too much of a good thing.
I really like these and I cant wait to have another. Maybe I will put the next one in the freezer for awhile to harden the caramel.

I still prefer the Mars Midnight (does anyone remember those?), but this is another super yummy spin off of regular Mars.
