What's Pure Happiness???

It's Pure Happiness is a blog of things I like, love or find inspiring.
It might be pictures, quotes, songs, books, products or foods.
Basically, it's things that make up a life of Pure Happiness.

52 Lists: Places You Want To Go

'52 Lists' is a blog activity started by Moorea-seal, based on a book called 'List Yourself'.

Self reflection always appeals to me, so I thought I would give it a go. I'm months behind, but I thought I might just go through them at my own pace now.

Week 9: List The Places You Want To Go

I should start out by saying that I would quite happily travel all over the world discovering beautiful places and new things, so for me there isnt just a few specific places. But here goes, I will do my best.

* Italy
* Greece
* The Cook Islands (Rarotonga again, but also Aitutaki)
* Malaysia - Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Redang , Tioman, Borneo.
* The Maldives
* Vanuatu - beach and volcano !
* On Safari - in Africa - dont mind where.
* Carribean (Barbados, Cayman Islands- turtle sanctuary)
* Palau - to swim in jellyfish lake.
* Antarctica
* To see killer whales/orcas in the wild
* Bali/Thailand - to some of those gorgeous retreats
* Disneyland
* French Polynesia (Bora Bora etc)
* China - the great wall and the terracotta warriers. And to attend Chinese New Year celebrations.
* To somewhere it is snowing at Christmas (for a White Christmas)
* Lake Bled - I used to want to marry at the church right there in the middle.
* To see the Northern Lights
* And in Australia - The Whitsundays, Ningaloo Reef, The Daintree, Green Island.

I know some others had a broader approach to the list question, but I took this to mean places I want to travel to.

It will be really interesting to look back on these in a week, a month, a year or more and see how it has changed. Part of the reason I love doing these things is because they are so reflective of your current 'at this very moment' self, and therefore, even if I did this again tomorrow, I am sure some of the things would be different.

52 Lists: Fave Albums

'52 Lists' is a blog activity started by Moorea-seal, based on a book called 'List Yourself'.

Self reflection always appeals to me, so I thought I would give it a go. I'm months behind, but I thought I might just go through them at my own pace now.

Week 8: List Your Favourite Albums (CD's)

* Ed Sheeran '+'
* Adele '21'
* Thirsty Merc 'Mousetrap Heart' and 'Thirsty Merc'
* Missy Higgins "The Sound of White" and "On a Clear Night"
* Alanis Morisette "Jagged Little Pill"
* Vanessa Amorossi "The Power"
*  Eric Hutchinson "Sounds Like This"
* Van Morrison "Best Of Van Morrison"
* Bruno Mars "Du Wops and Hooligans"
* Timomatic "Timomatic"
*  Jewel "Pieces Of You"
* Killing Heidi "Reflector"
* The Beatles "1"
* Kate Cebrano "Merry Christmas"
* Tin Lids "Hey Rudolph"
* Tracy Chapman "Collection"
* Carole King "Tapestry"
*  And oh so many compilation CD's - I just like a bit of everything.

Some of these albums are here because they are my current loves, some have been long term favourites and others just have brilliant memories associated to them. Of course, if this had just been about songs rather than whole albums there would be hundreds more artists.

It will be really interesting to look back on these in a week, a month, a year or more and see how it has changed. Part of the reason I love doing these things is because they are so reflective of your current 'at this very moment' self, and therefore, even if I did this again tomorrow, I am sure some of the things would be different.

Mini Review Time !!!

Here are a few things that I have been particularly pleased with lately - and a quick review of each.

Nivea Lip Butter. I have both the Vanilla and Macadamia and the Caramel Cream. Both are nice and soft and rich. They are a butter, rather than a gloss, so they sink in a bit and leave a very moisturised feel. Shea butter and almond oil are key ingredients. The Vanilla and Macadamia one smells a bit like Milko or Milkshake lollies and leaves an ever so slight white tinge to the lips if you apply it too thick. The Caramel Cream one smells a bit like caramel popcorn - I havent noticed any colour tinge with this one. I really love these balms and I'm finding them particularly good on winter lips.

Pauls Double Thick Chocolate Custard. This is one of my fave desserts. The custard is so thick and creamy, and the chocolate flavour is really strong. The biggest problem with this one is not eating the entire container in one go.

Black Swan Farmers Best Crispy Bacon and Avocado dip. This is a most delicious dip. It has a different texture to normal dips. It is a fluffy, silky dip, almost like a mousse. The dip is primarily avocado, although there is a subtle bacon flavour, and some small chunks of bacon in it. So delicious on crackers, although you could just as easily use this as a spread.

Boots from BigW. I have 2 pairs of boots from Big W at the moment, and both are the most comfortable, easy to wear boots. The first is a pair of purple, slouchy ankle boots. They are flat and made of a suede type material. So easy to just quickly slip on. They are warm, comfortable and only cost $10. The second is a pair of wedge, bright red ankle boots. Again with a suede finish. These ones have a zip to help do up. Even though they have a wedge they are really comfortable to wear and dont hurt my feet at all. I think these were $25 from BigW. I've worn them a stack of times each and they are holding up well. I bought these 2 pairs of boots just looking for some fun colours and something better than open toe heels to wear in winter and I am super impressed. I'll definitely keep looking in BigW for cheap boots.

Continental Indian Chicken Tonight Butter Chicken sauce. This is my absolute favourite store bought make-at-home butter chicken sauce. We love butter chicken at our place and this is the one we always go back to. It doesnt taste like butter chicken you get at Indian places, however it is really delicious. Rich and creamy, with just the right hint of spice and flavour. We just add this to some onion and chicken (sometimes carrot or chickpeas etc) and you have a really simple butter chicken.

52 Lists: Healthy- Mind Body and Soul

'52 Lists' is a blog activity started by Moorea-seal, based on a book called 'List Yourself'.

Self reflection always appeals to me, so I thought I would give it a go. I'm months behind, but I thought I might just go through them at my own pace now.

Week 7: List The Things That Make You Feel Healthy; Mind, Body and Soul.

  • Eating (reasonably) health lunches - like salads and tuna etc.
  • Drinking heaps of water every day
  • Laughing
  • Getting some sunshine on my skin
  • Getting out in the fresh air
  • Bike riding
  • Being positive
  • Dancing around the lounge room
  • Showers
  • Spending time with my husband or sisters
  • Talking through my emotions
  • Singing (badly), particularly emotive songs
  • Finding sneaky ways to add veggies to meals
  • Being calm and serene
  • A good nights sleep
I found this list a bit hard to do. Mostly cos the 'question' was too broad but also, somehow too narrow for me. I think alot of the things that make me feel healthy mind and soul have already been added to previous lists.

It will be really interesting to look back on these in a week, a month, a year or more and see how it has changed. Part of the reason I love doing these things is because they are so reflective of your current 'at this very moment' self, and therefore, even if I did this again tomorrow, I am sure some of the things would be different.
